With more than 1,000 key-note speeches, executive coaching sessions, and strategic business workshops in more than 70 countries for more than 10,000 people, Fernando combines a rigorous doctoral and executive Ivy-League education from Wharton School and the Graduate School of Education of the University of Pennsylvania with hands-on practice as an executive of The Home Depot, the biggest home improvement retailer in the World. He has a robust experience as executive and advisor of large national retailers, oil & gas companies, manufacturing groups, financial institutions, hotels chains, and other international businesses, in the areas of cultural and cognitive diversity, innovation, human phygitalization, and leadership for business and people results. He was the 59th World President of Junior Chamber International (JCI), a major worldwide federation of leaders and entrepreneurs with UN-affiliated status. He served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Association for Talent Development – ATD (formerly ASTD) and Vice-President of the US-Mexico Chamber of Commerce in Houston. A happy husband and father of three teenagers, Fernando is an active runner, practising Yoga, Tai-Chi, and Aikido. He is fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, and is learning French. He is the author of the leadership book “Learning to Be a Dolphin in a Sea of Sharks” and writes weekly and monthly for major newspapers and professional publications.
